AZYADE

This historic variety (a descendent of "Dalmatica") features light to mid tones of lavender, lighter around the white, golden-tipped beards. Flowers are larger than the Iris Pallida’s, and quite charming.

BARBE NOIRE

Faïence de Gien's excellent seedling brother is very elegant but taller. Its exceptional lower branching stalks carry 7 to 8 buds. It features milk-white standards whilst the very wide white falls have lovely violet and purplish black borders (over 2 cm) and are veined with fine lines of the same colour which run parallel to the golden yellow beards.

Wonderfully lively and salmon-pink standards framed by creamy pink, nearly horizontal falls with amethyst borders (over 5 to 7 mm). DOMINO NOIR

Years of research were needed to obtain this rare jewel which offers a striking and clear contrast: practically pure white standards with an almost imperceptible violet border and jet-black falls with golden yellow beards. These wide flowers are ruffled on the edges and stand on a well branched stalk. Previewed at the 2012 edition of the Chelsea Flower Show, they were a huge success with the new varieties enthusiasts.

Whilst the standards are of pure yellow, the horizontal falls of lemon-yellow feature a clear and fine burgundy border (5 mm). These large and very elegant amply waved flowers with very upright stalks stand out with their warm-looking orange beards.

GRAND VENEUR

We believe this "Rougissant" offspring is one of the reddest ever irises we have produced, with its medium wine-red standards and vivid, velvety garnet-red falls. The beards also retain warmth with their copper-toned heart and violet-red tips. The long flowering period of these flowers will delight gardeners as will their wonderfully low-branched stalk (8 to 9 buds).

This delight spreads its light brown-red standards above nearly horizontal garnet-red falls which boast exquisite lacy crimped edges. The glowing yellow beards seem lengthened by a 3 to 4 cm-long stripe running along the middle. These wonderful flowers are rather round and their stalks well branched.

NELLY TARDIVIER

This new and luscious combination carries numerous elegantly ruffled flowers (11 on average) which feature medium-sized standards. The nearly horizontals falls of amaranth, with borders which turn to a light pink copper tone, are nicely echoed by bronze-coloured beards. We are pleased to have named this exquisite variety in memory of Madame Tardivier, former director of the Jardins des Tuileries at the Louvre.

This variety’s colours exude warmth in honor of one of Spain’s most famous botanists! Apricot standards which are slightly rosy at the centre and delightfully ruffled at the edges frame the lively garnet-red falls with their peachy-rose and very precise 5-6 mm wide edges. Mandarin-toned beards and beautiful branches (of 8 to 10 buds on average)complete the picture.

A rare bicolor featuring pale lavender-blue standards with falls of yellow with a hint of ochre or golden yellow and thin but neat white ruffles. A cross which could almost be mad, were it not for the fact that it gave great results: one of our most original varieties! You will discover apricot-infused cream standards, brightest at their centre, framing rather rounded and beautifully ruffled lavender falls with wide mid-brown edges. Their imposing bright orange beards are striking. This variety, with gorgeous stems (8 to 9 buds on average), is truly one of a kind!

"Paul Black" and "Alpenview" are the proud parents of this astonishing inversed amoena and its majestic 15 cm by 15 cm flower which is dedicated to Villa Erba, residence of the famous Italian film-director, Luchino Visconti. The magnificent wisteria-blue standards are darker at the centre, whilst the large bluish-white falls are elegantly undulated with ruffles. The mandarin-coloured beards of this really vigorous and fragrant new variety have lighter tips.

Somewhere between amaranth and raspberry, this new very consistent red variety carries rust-toned beards. Its falls are wide and nearly horizontal and its stems are sturdy and upright. The 9 buds are nicely spaced and close to the stem on a generally excellent "body". You will come away with a general impression of redness.
