Interesting and very unusual colour contrast between the pale blue standards and the bluish-black velvety falls. Black-purple beards tipped yellow. This very recent iris (introduced in the USA in 2004) has strong stalks and propagates very quickly.

Lavender-white standards widely tinted pale green chartreuse; almost horizontal falls eggplant with a satin finish and a narrow amethyst rim. Yellow-orange beards ending pale lavender. Moderate sized and ruffled flowers, well balanced with the plant. Good branch and mysterious look.

"Paul Black" and "Alpenview" are the proud parents of this astonishing inversed amoena and its majestic 15 cm by 15 cm flower which is dedicated to Villa Erba, residence of the famous Italian film-director, Luchino Visconti. The magnificent wisteria-blue standards are darker at the centre, whilst the large bluish-white falls are elegantly undulated with ruffles. The mandarin-coloured beards of this really vigorous and fragrant new variety have lighter tips.

Name after the exquisite French Jouy tapestries, famous for their delicate stitching. Pure white standards flushed with lavender at their edges, very pretty purple falls sporting a wide white centre around the bright red beard. Exemplary stalks with 4 branches and an average of 9 buds. Multiplies up fast.

A combination of deep rich tones. Mid-purple standards and velvety purplish black falls, whose edges are the same colour as the standards. Beards likewise purplish black and therefore discreet. Very large wavy flowers (16.5 cm x 10 cm).

Ruffled white standards with a hint of lilac. Almost horizontal falls, strongly ruffled too, garnet red edged with 1 mm pale pink rim. Discreet bronze beards that do not disturb this perfect contrast. Good branching and 8 to 9 buds in average. Coming from ‘Urban Cowgirl’.
